Wanderings and meanders

Magnolia

Crook Hall Gardens, Durham

The picture doesn't show how windy it was. This magnolia was being battered by gusts and had a carpet of petals below it.

Enjoyed a walk around the gardens, then took the river walkway up past the weirs as they thundered with water; up to the cathedral and castle before pottering back down. Lunch, bag pick up and hike to the battery in Wharton Park then a slightly delayed train home (due to earlier line inspection further south and speed restrictions applied due to Storm Kathleen as we got further north).
