Stanage Edge

Spur of the moment drive over the Snake Pass - what a terrible state the A57 road is in in places including two sets of Traffic lights where it is down to one carriageway with men on site inspecting for new subsidences after all the rain. Some parts in between the 2 lights are like the Big Dipper - a Ramp road sign doesn’t really explain what is about the happen? New crack appeared from the hillside (Just before Ashop).

Car Parking in Hathersage on a quiet Monday lunchtime in April  was very difficult but eventually found a 40 minutes street parking place. J then had a failed visit to the Outdoor shops  not finding quite the right size of the right coat etc.

After all that, SUCCESS getting to the top of Stanage Edge from Dennis Knoll Car Park and Long Causeway.  Red Kites, Ravens, Stonechats, Willow Warblers, Curlew, Lapwing with Skylarks singing.   Found out later I walked the wrong way so missed a pair of Ring Ouzel.
