Lost in Thought

Unhinged (MM533)

I'm not entirely sure this fits with the theme for Mono Monday but I liked these old strap hinges at Hidcote Manor Gardens this afternoon.

I hadn't realised Boulton Paul made this sort of thing - they did work in aircraft manufacturing, although a company naming a single seat fighter after the partridge is probably not destined for great success :-)

Thanks to John Edward for hosting.

We had gone there on the recommendation of one of Gill's sewing contacts as there is a very good exhibition of art works involving items from the garden put together to make botanical tapestries.
Difficult to describe but you can see a couple of the pieces in the extra, along with some more conventional views from the gardens.
More info on the exhibition here. Well worth seeing if you are local.

The artist, Olga Prinku, had signed a few books about how she created the pieces, Gill bought the last one they had in the shop.

For a completely different photographic experience - I came across this news article about a competition extolling the virtues of concrete!
