Progress and some more history.

Again today a bit of time to kill, this time in Barker St, Randwick. This public park, children’s playground, shopping precinct and apartment complex is on the site of the Inglis sale yards where Australia’s finest thoroughbred bloodstock was paraded, bought and sold from the early 1900s to 2018. It’s now moved to Warwick Farm in southwestern Sydney.
The blue frame above the playground was the sale ring and the horse stalls were all around but are now luxury apartments. I was pleased to see the famous Morton Bay fig still in pride of place - this is where bidders with multimillion $$$ budgets would stand while studying their catalogues for the breeding and the horses’ conformation before discretely raising their pinky.
