Rusty bathroom plumbing

When the dentist temporarily filled the gap in my teeth this morning, he said that it would be worth looking for my lost crown, if at all possible. When I mentioned this to Mr hazelh at lunchtime, he leapt into action and took apart the plumbing beneath the basin in our en suite bathroom. As well as finding the crown (hurrah!), he also discovered that the plumbing is in a rather shocking state, as blipped.

This all led to an expedition to B&Q in search of replacement parts. From the shop's web site it looked like the necessary bits and pieces were in stock. However, they could not be found on the shelves. The shop assistant who helped us hunt for them explained that this is a common problem - due to a epidemic of shoplifting! Happily Screwfix just along the road was able to help us and Mr hazelh fixed everything when we returned home again.

I picked up some other shopping today. This was a special delivery from my gym friend Karen for a dinner that I am hosting at the end of the month.

Other tasks completed today include switching old mothballs for new in all our cupboards and drawers, making a donation to the Bethany shop, sending a birthday card to Australia for my Uncle John's (Mummy hazelh's little brother's) 80th birthday, answering work email, and making a colourful sausage, broccoli, tomato and courgette bake for supper.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; small amount of walking (9,562 steps).
