Lac des Mines d’Or

Low cloud today so walked from Nyon téléphérique car park (saving us 30 mins each way) along the Dranse to Lac des Mines d’Or and then up into the snow line on a circular that passed the Freterolles chalet and Chardonniere Refuge.

Vast swathes of Marsh marigolds, Cowslips, Alpine butterbur and Crocus :-)

The snow slowed us down massively but it was a great little adventure. We will be back to do Col de Cou in Summer.

Total 17.2km 630m ascent 5hours incl lunch break at the lake.
