Crossing the Nepean

The Nepean at Penrith was subject to minor flooding a few days back when the Warragamba Dam overflowed upstream. Here we are crossing the Nepean via its wonderful walking bridge which spans the stream entirely unsupported. We could see that the walking tracks either side of the river, along with the boating jetty, were still underwater although the rowing club facilities were still operating (see extra).

The big concern was further downstream at Richmond and Windsor, where some properties WERE actually inundated and significant damage done. It is no comfort for those personally affected, but flooding in recent years has been generally much worse than it was on this occasion.

Apologies for my absence from the commenting circuit. With one thing and another, time has been short. "I shall return".
