Spring Greens

Every Spring l fall in love with the tulip display at the entrance to YorkGate and when the opportunity to buy some bulbs came up last autumn l had no hesitation in buying some.
Now enjoying the results as they make a feature in the troughs in my front garden, they are beautiful at any stage.

Waiting for a delivery of quartz stone chippings to cover the prepared ground where the shed was.
Fencing got finished yesterday so the project is going ahead at pace…so far.
I’ve to transport the stones to the back garden, not an easy task but lm borrowing my neighbour’s wheelbarrow which will help instead of carrying it by the bucketload. Will have to pace myself on this one.

Ballet was fairly successful, but l did feel some pain afterwards which while not unexpected was disappointing. On the positive side l’ve no pain this morning.
The play last night was excellent, set in the North East it featured two groups of women from different eras, one in the present and easy to relate to and one about the ‘herring women’ : a band of workers who worked the fishing ports from Scotland down to Great Yarmouth, moving from place to place throughout the season. Very cleverly written, funny and sad in equal measures. All the more interesting because D’s grandmother was a herring girl…a tough life.
