Emerging Strelitzia

This lovely Bird of Paradise flower was just peeping through the leaves into the light ; ). Most of the other flowers looked burnt by the heat and had an aging rockstar look about them ; ) (In extras)!

We’ve had a rain event finally but it only affected some suburbs and completely missed us!! Much to our disappointment!!  Some of the northern suburbs were completely inundated with slow moving thunderstorms and received around 100mm rain plus hail!! Some photos I saw were of cars floating in the streets eeek!!  Thousands of houses were without power, it was chaos!!
We could see the black clouds all around us late this afternoon (in extras) and had a bit of a sprinkle of rain but that was it for us, totally missed!!
