A very different bedroom!

This was our bedroom in the house where we stayed in Peasenhall , Sussex. Very different from at home! The house, the New Inn, originates from around 1500 . It was derelict for many years and was restored by the Landmark Trust in the 1970’s as three separate ‘houses’ all sharing the main big hall….see extra. It was then refurbished again in 2013 and is now one let for eight people..four bedrooms and three bathrooms plus the very large living area and a separate small living room! It is often used by groups getting together  to celebrate significant birthdays etc!  It was a lovely place to stay for a few days but always nice to get home. The house was very dark inside and does not have double glazing or very efficient heating . Ok at this time of year but in cold weather you would need a fire all the time. No Wi-Fi and no TV for a few days makes you realise you can do without but good to be able to have decent Wi-Fi again…..we take it for granted now! Also I noticed the traffic noise on the adjacent B road in the early morning, much noiser than where we live!
We have stayed in many Landmark Trust houses over the years and they always have a high standard of furniture, bedding, kitchen things etc. the people in the village were very friendly and there are nine resident peacocks who roam around near the house..including one white one. We saw them each day as several residents nearby put out food for them. The grandchildren were very taken with them and they were given a peacock feather each by one neighbour. See extra.

Today was so much warmer, 20C when we were driving home. Tedious traffic but could have been worse.
