Happy Birthday

“There are two great days in a person's life - the day we are born and the day we discover why.”
William Barclay
Had my ‘official’ birthday yesterday, my ‘real’ birthday today – and both were treats! Think I’ll have more unBirthdays in future.
Met BobsBlips for a cooked breakfast in Ross at our favourite café to kick off, then off to St.James Church at Staunton in Gloucestershire. We both agreed that this is a fantastic setting and really shows off the church at its’ best with the pond in front (you’ll have to see Bob’s shot for that, stunning). Fortunately it was open so I had my meditation while Bob did another circuit of the pond to get his B/W image for the day. We paid our respects to the 2,000 year-old Yew adjacent to the church before heading off to Old Pendock Church, overlooking the M50. Met by a Red Kite prospecting and a few ponies that sauntered over to check on the visitors. Saw my first swallow of the year too.
Something of a feast for the photographic eye today, so Newent had to provide a feast of another sort (the church was closed) – coffee and ‘birthday’ cake in the afternoon sun on the pavement outside the café/deli in the main street. Thanks for the great birthday treat Bob!
Back home there were more treats, cards etc so a memorable birthday with enough memories and photos.
