Walk in the Park

A glorious day for a walk on the Stanley Park Seawall, a 10+ Km. walkway around the perimeter of Vancouver’s gem, Stanley Park, on the west end of the downtown peninsula.

During the pandemic we did this walk semi regularly. The day began by picking up JJ in the city, parking near the park, getting coffee (a must), then walking the entire way, while having the pathway almost entirely to ourselves. We would then go to an entirely different area of the city, to a friend’s vegan bowl restaurant for takeout and go the beach in my Apr. 10 blip (which is behind the ships in the distance in the left photo), before returning home.

Today we reprised that experience for the first time. Needless to say, the pathway was equally pleasant but quite a bit more busy.

These are just a small portion of the pathway. Pedestrians, walkers and joggers have the left lane, cyclists, rollerbladers, and others on wheels have their own lane on the right. And there are plenty of benches to sit on, enjoy the scenery and watch the world go by.
