Sgwarnog: In the Field

Perch

A large, fallen tree has got stuck on Hurst Weir since I last walked past. This Grey Heron has adopted it as a perch. I’ve put a wider view in extras for a bit more context.

A bit further along, at Dowley Gap, a narrow boat was negotiating the locks, and I spotted my first Orange-tip Butterfly of the year in the woods below the aqueduct.

I was working my way along to the Bradford & Bingley Sports Club, off Wagon Lane (Ground 132) where Bingley Town were playing top of the table Gargrave in a Craven League Premier Division fixture (extra). Gargrave continued their 100% record in the league (12 from 12 with four to play) with a 7-0 win
