Just Molting

The skin of adult anoles/lizards doesn't grow with them and must be shed often as the reptile matures. So, if you spot an anole (green or brown) whose skin is 'peeling off', they are probably just molting. This female green anole looks like she's beginning to shed at her head. But she also may have been injured in a tussle with another anole or perhaps during mating.
