Lunch with the Gondoliers.

We headed into Venice this morning on the vaporetto from Murano. It took about 15 minutes and was a really nice way to enter the city. We walked through the narrow streets and over bridges to arrive at the ghetto area. We had a coffee and a pastry to fortify us for some more walking.

We were thinking about choosing somewhere for lunch when we looked into a restaurant that gondoliers eating their lunch- so we thought it must be good! It really was. I had a delicious ravioli dish with aubergine and pesto.

It was then onto a museum- the Fortuny. I quite enjoyed it, but it wasn’t really Mr CFJ’s thing…

We were in need of a drink and a sit down by this point, so headed to a cafe overlooking the Grand Canal- what a view!

We took another vaporetto to meet up with a food and drink tour. We had a number of cicchetti ( a bit like tapas) and a few drinks in three different places. A really good way to spend a few hours.
