Straying From The Flock

Today's image was taken on another local photographic safari and is a further case of remembering to look over your shoulder. We'd taken a short walk through the Royal British Legion village when I spotted several splashes of bright colour through some tree branches as I looked back to where we'd just come from.
On closer inspection I realised it was the side of one of the vans belonging to our local hospice (the Heart of Kent Hospice) with a depiction of Shaun The Sheep (whom I will return to later in my blip). I did try to get closer in an attempt to obtain a better shot but unfortunately there was a car parked in front of the van but I then decided I quite liked this viewpoint as it really did look like he had strayed from his flock!
Shockingly the hospice recently had one of their other vans stolen overnight a couple of weeks ago from the rear of their shop just down the road from us. Thieves broke in, removed the vehicle's tracker and smashed through the locked gates using the van, which had over £1000 of stock inside. Apart from the staff and volunteers being shaken it has hit the charity hard as they have lost their largest van for moving furniture around and collecting donations. The police are still investigating at this stage.
On a much happier note Shaun has taken time off from his flock at Mossy Bottom farm and his attempts to add excitement to the lives of his fellow sheep by becoming involved in sitcom-style escapades (usually involving human technology and culture), engaging in the occasional conflict with BItzer the sheepdog and trying to avoid discovery by the farmer to help promote a second art trail in Maidstone and the surrounding area this summer which will assist in raising extra funds for the hospice. Over 100 blank Shaun sculptures will be painted by talented artists and placed in various sites around the local community.
