Hampsfella

Coniston from Fell End

What a contrast from yesterday.  I woke early with the sun streaming in and a clear blue sky.  Thinking that this was too good to waste I got up, donned my boots, and was up on the Hampsfell ridge by about 0715.  It was calm and quite warm in the sunshine.  There are some patches of snow visible on the higher Lakeland peaks.  The skylarks were singing and wheatears were flitting about on the hillside.  All in all a lovely start to the day and a rare opportunity for me to blip early.
