Before the next deluge

My mini field of around 120 bulbs has turned out to yield about seventeen tulip flowers and for the rest only tulip leaves without any flowers this year. I have no idea why , and it is rather worrying and disappointing. The deep purple tulip I did photograph today in between gusts of wind and very short and local showers had these drops on it as if a pastry chef had carefully dotted the petals with some decorative dots. I think the best thing to do is probably deadhead the remaining tulips and get rid of all the green leaves and  sow some bee, butterfly and other critter- friendly flower seeds instead.

For Tiny Tuesday with thanks to JDO for hosting this month.

Thanks very much for the very kind comments, stars and even two hearts for yesterday’s mono ladyslipper flower.
