Everyday I Write The Book

By Eyecatching

30 years ago today …

We celebrated our anniversary with a lie-in at the hotel in Shoreditch followed by breakfast at one of the many trendy cafes in this part of the east end of London. Then did some really lovely shopping at the Spitalfields market - we even got hugs from one of the stallholders who combines pictures and words into lovely pieces of art.

The exhibition we saw at the Royal Academy - entangled pasts - was messy and poorly curated but it was nonetheless important and informative. Glad we caught it before it finished. It was genuinely enlightening on the history of black people in art and society since the seventeenth century, even if it lacked impact.

Lunch at Mallow was stunning (see extra). We overindulged of course; I wish I could cook like that.

Two brilliant days. It’s been a great anniversary. Can’t wait for the next thirty.
