Poolside lunch

Today was my last day in Thailand so we decided to treat ourselves to a flash Sunday lunch at a luxury resort called Twin Palms at Surin Beach, Phuket.

They put on an amazing buffet for the set price of around US$60 per head. This includes a bottle of wine for every two people. Free flow Bloody Mary's which you make yourself, Sake with your sashimi if you wish and the most amazing buffet spread.

There was fresh sashimi of tuna, prawns, octopus etc etc. Oysters freshly shucked, mussels, tiger prawns, Moreton Bay bugs, crab, salmon etc. Exotically prepared canapés and delicate salad ingredients for starters.

Marinated pork ribs, beef ribeye, roasted duck, whole fish, pasta, curries and traditional Thai dishes for mains.

Desert had a host of tasty dishes presented in cocktail glasses or ramicans along with fresh fruit all surrounding a chocolate fountain. A fabulous spread of cheeses and free flow port to finish.

Not bad for $60 a head and you could eat and drink as much as you wanted over the 3 hour lunch period.

I snapped some shots of food and pool environs but decided to post this as a contrast to yesterday. It shows a glimpse of guests relaxing around the pool. The pool itself meandered around the complex in such a way that every ground floor room had pool entry right at their doorstep. An amazing place and a contrast to the style we have lived over the past two weeks.
