Weta

Late blip as we stayed out of range last night.

A great day at Anatoki catching salmon then having them hot smoked - had one for lunch and one to take away. That's the next few meals sorted!

A young girl found this Weta.  I wasn't up for handling it but A was.
Weta are indigenous to New Zealand.  I believe there are about 50 different varieties.  This is a very small one.  The big ones are way freakier - though they are completely harmless.

Then when we were sitting outside in the evening I spotted this stick insect on the grass. Not a safe place for him to be so he got moved to a tree.
