Rhododendrons

Out in the afternoon to walk through the Botanics. Main image is arizelum. In extra, irroratum subspecies  ningyuenense

Tea and a cheese garlic scone with pesto at Inverleith house; shared with a robin, a chaffinch and a pigeon, with a few pieces left for a swan at the pond.

Watched a gull swoop on a whole scone at another table; the woman shrieked though the gull was quiet .. a little later two gulls tussled beak to beak, very loudly, on the ground; one had a paler grey mottled back and pink feet, the other had a darker back and yellow legs; so one mature and one immature yellow legged gull.

Four swans on the pond, and at least six tufted ducks, diving amusingly. I have some pictures of dive rings and tails. George V park and several other council owned stretches of grass have had their first cut of the season.

Another almost dry day; we dodged one light shower. 9C high and a north wind.
