Stuff and Nonsense

Linnet #45

A very pleasant morning despite the cold wind, and the eventual rain.
A fair few birds around, but nothing particularly unusual.
The horse paddock seems to have turned into a wetland with all the rain and was occupied, not by horses, but by shelducks, mallards, redshanks and wagtails!
There was plenty of feeding in evidence. We saw a stonechat eating a caterpillar, a magpie eating a frog and linnets eating dandelions.
But my favourite shot of the day was this linnet collecting nesting materials which looked like a new moustache :)

On the way home, we dropped in at Burton Marsh to look for wheatears and were successful, with the added bonus of a pair of whitethroats too. No pictures as I left my camera in the car as it was raining.

I'm behind again with commenting, but will try and catch up before we go to Anglesey on Saturday.
