Carn Dearg

I drove to Newtonmore to climb the three Monadh Liath Munros. Weather was good. No sunshine, but no rain or mist either. A long-ish walk: it took two-and-a-half hours to get from from the first Munro (Carn Dearg) to the second Munro (Carn Sgulain) and the photo shows the view looking back to Carn Dearg after about 45 minutes of that journey.

Today's trip kept reminding me of other hillwalking outings. The fence posts were very Ben Chonzie. And there was definitely an Ochil Hills feel to the high-level bit of the walk. But mainly it brought to mind the round of the four Munros at the east end of Glen Lyon (Carn Gorm, Meall Garbh, Carn Mairg and Meall nan Aighean) which I did almost exactly seven years ago.
