Hill Top Ramblings

Old Park Wood

This might be Bonnie’s new favourite walk. Only a couple of miles from home, it’s a short car drive. Then there’s a pretty little stream, and several miles of forestry tracks. Most of the conifers have been felled, so there are some great banks of flowering gorse, with plenty of bumblebees and willow warblers. A pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers were chasing about and it was all rather delightful.
There’s a convenient bench where we can sit and so we had Bonnie’s first picnic. She was impressed!
