Bedside view

This has become a daily outlook this week whilst visiting my daughter in hospital. It's a quiet bay with just four beds and she has been responding well to treatment albeit it's taken time for the medics to establish exactly what the problem is. It's ironic that, on my way to the ward, I pass a photograph on a history display of an occasion when Julie Andrews visited the hospital in the 1990s as we had a diagnostic unit named after her and a new rose variety, bearing her name, had just been launched as a fundraising initiative by a local nursery. My daughter presented her with a bouquet that day. Unfortunately she's not in the display photo, although I am.
