Out for lunch

We decided to head south to the town of Waimate (where I was born) for lunch.  We chose ‘The Waimate’, a pub that has stood since 1869.  Recently a wealthy Waimate man has poured mega bucks into redesigning both it inside and outside.  It is now a beautiful building and one the town is very proud of.  We had a lovely meal with excellent service.
We then went for a look around the area…..silo art (blipped before), the park (where I used to do horse riding and jumping),  up the hill to the White Horse Lookout, and the lovely old church my Mum and Dad got married in a year before he served in WW2.  It’s been upgraded and modified since, but looking at their wedding photos the entrance and bell tower are the same…which is good.
We all enjoyed our outing…..special family time.
