Parc de Las Colonias

Our new park and public space finally opened up today in our barrio! I’d like to say there was fanfare and ribbon cutting, but when Bb and I arrived at the official opening time, it was already open and lots of folk were always inside and enjoying the space. The opening is a year late, but very welcome nonetheless. We’ve followed the process closely since the original passageways and houses were demolished and walking round the borders of the site has been part of our daily walk for the last year or so. See Barrioboy’s blip for more of the story: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3228713638172822453
It was great to see so many families enjoying it and the parks department of Barcelona council had set up stands, giving workshops on local plants and birds, how to make an insect home, how to save water, giving out free plants cuttings and more.

We’d ordered a roast chicken from one of our local shops afterwards and have just finished a roast chicken lunch, with carrots, broccoli and tomatoes. Lovely!

Settling down now to watch Wicked Little Lies.
