The Winners

Earlier this year I held an essay competition for senior school pupils with the prize being a trip to Brussels to attend the Committee of the Regions plenary in July.

These are the two winners from Scotland, Callum and Hunnain who arrived yesterday and leave tomorrow. During their time today here in Brussels they gave a presentation to the European Alliance group, which I am a member of and attended the plenary session in the Chamber of the European Parliament. Tomorrow they go on a site-seeing trip of Brussels before heading back to Scotland.

The competition had winners from a number of countries across Europe. Apart from Scotland, they came from countries as far across Europe as Ireland and Romania, as well as a number of countries in-between.
