Sunday Sitting on Stones

How much this farm building is used, I'm not sure. However, aside from its slightly unkempt appearance, I always find the saddle stones that it rests on of interest.

Amongst the ivy you can make out mushroom-shaped stones, which were often used to keep out moisture and vermin. The overgrown plants will give creatures an easy climb, but you can imagine that the overhang of cleaner top stones would be tricky for some.

I'll look out for a better example but today this is the one I passed.

Thanks for hosting, Marlieske.
