Moving House …..

….. ….. ….. from Lumsden to Arrowtown.

Here comes the roof from a former church in Lumsden, and now going to be someone’s home near Arrowtown.

My #2 son H. has been the camera operator for this series since the beginning and he’s continued with this one. I’ve never had a chance to see it all happening before.
The whole rig didn’t arrive in Frankton until 2:30pm, right when the traffic builds up every day, and especially on Fridays. I’d waited out in Arrowtown for a couple of hours and then decided to head towards their direction of travel - and the picture above tells it all. All the oncoming traffic got waved right off the road and the whole ‘circus’ rolled on by. That roof is enormous! There’s another angle in Extras. Traffic was backed up for kilometres in both directions. Pandemonium reigned.
That’s Walter Peak in the distance in the main photo, behind the church roof. They were peaking!!

The body of the church will be transported up tomorrow.
My nephew and his wife, A&A, arrived in town yesterday, and we’ve just had dinner together at the Postmaster’s Café in Arrowtown. The plan is to walk up Tobins Track tomorrow, after yoga. It’s looking like another busy day ahead.
