Pemberton discovered

Today we did an eco tour with Graeme to the forests, sand dunes and beaches near Pemberton.
Photographically it was fab so am dividing today in two. We have no reception so posting is delayed.

Last night we had a fab meal of local Marron ( rock lobster - or rather I did)

After breakfast in town we set off firstly to discover the amazing forests of Karri and jarra trees. There has been no rain in the Margaret river since last September and everything is suffering.

We took a walk to the river bed and also visited the lake before heading to the The dunes were spectacular - reminded me of snow fields.
Tyres were let down and through we went to the beach where fishermen were active.

Back for lunch and some bird watching. We had seen a sea eagle and later white breasted robins and new Holland honeyeaters

Then we visited the Beedleup National Park and waterfall even though it was just a trickle.

Then we met up with people we had met today at a tapas bar amazing Yeagarup Dunes.
