Prairie Pasque flowers

One of the things I have been looking forward to when I moved back to Wyoming was to find the Pasque flowers in the spring. I had seen some pictures from other people that they had found some. I decided today to drive up in the Laramie Range and see if I could find some. I had delightful success. These flowers like to be on a hillside. So I wandered across the prairie and down a little draw and I found a bunch as I wandered along. It really made me tear up. I just love these soft, furry, beautiful little prairie flowers. They even look cool when they go to seed, producing fluffy seed heads that look like they could be drawn by Dr. Seuss. A few more in the extras.
