Wound up in Wexford

Progress

At last we've had enough consecutive dry days for Joe to come and work on our pond.  It's more regularly round than we would have ideally liked - we prefer a more irregular shape.  But I think we'll live with it.  It turns out the lawn slopes slightly, so he's built up the front to allow for this.

Tomorrow, they'll bring a laser to get it absolutely accurate, and finish the shaping.

Meanwhile, I had some rescued  small reeds from some troughs that came with the house.  The troughs mostly contained weeds, and even a couple of sycamore saplings - I cleared them a couple of days when sorting the patio, rescued the reeds and a viola, threw out the rest.  So I planted them up behind our small pond.  And W made great progress with the raised beds, and clearing an area for more bulbs and shrubs.

It's been great to get out and achieve something in the garden, but sadly, we're promised more rain for the end of the week.
