President Mursi is no longer in power

General Sisi, head of the Egyptian army has just appeared live on TV, announcing the suspension of the constitution. We couldn't understand a word, but knew quickly what had happened when the firecrackers went off and the city came alive with roars, cheers and the ubiquitous car horns. The people of Egypt are being heard. History is being made! Exciting times and a privilege to be part of it.

In our little world, The BC made a decision mid morning to close the centre at 2pm today and to remain closed tomorrow. That basically meant our course was over one and a half days early. My co-trainer and I had to swing into action very quickly to wind the course up and to do all the necessary admin required by Cambridge. Some trainees who were to teach this afternoon or tomorrow were very disappointed as they'd spent double figure hours on planning and language analysis. Others were visibly relieved. We now need to send all their portfolios of work to Cambridge for assessment there and confirmation of our provisional grades. It's been an interesting month to say the least! We work from home tomorrow getting the reports done and all the Cambridge paperwork. We managed to get our flights brought forward to the weekend. Given the celebrations I can hear on the streets right now though, I wonder if we were moved too quickly!
