No Trains

The ongoing demolition of the Station Hotel which was in a dangerous condition follow two major fires within the derelict building. Due to the proximity of the railway, no trains are able to operate south of Ayr and a shuttle service operates between Ayr and Prestwick Town to connect with a train to Glasgow.
The remainder of the tower and half of the northern section of the building at Ayr Railway Station is set to be taken down as part of ongoing safety works. The council have recently announced that the demolition works are expected to be completed by 17 June 2024.
