Swallow - quick!

Looking back on my blips from Canada it seems that birds have featured quite heavily, so have decided that another for the penultimate photo from here was in order.

I have tried photographing swallows before, but they move so quickly the camera won't focus in time. So today I decide to turn it to manual focus, and set it up by focusing on the sea below me, (I was on a pier not just hovering around!) Then I just set a midrange zoom and treated it like a point and shoot camera, and this was the result! All I've done is crop off quite a lot of sea.

I'm very pleased with the result and it just go to show that the simple approach can often work despite our attempts to complicate stuff!
