Camera or mobile?

I am an old amateur photographer having always used a manually operated camera with film inside. I have only recently switched to automatic-no-film-digital-point-and-shoot cameras and I am looking down upon mobile phones being used as cameras.
But should I actually give in? I am experimenting with my airfryer these days and sending pictures to my good friend, close ups of the meals. Just the other day she commented the shots saying that 'you really have a good camera in your phone!'
And to quote some comics, you can also use the mobile for phone calls!
