Ely Cathedral

Parkrun was cold and damp, but we still had a decent turnout.

Back at home, I asked Mr Pandammonium what he wanted to do this afternoon.

‘Relax.’

So I was relaxing, when he decided not long after two o’clock that he wanted to go to Ely.

‘Walking?’

‘No, on the train.’

Well, that was something. No more long walks for him; he’s tapering.

I scrambled to get ready for the next train, and off we went.

I took a photo of the cathedral’s tower that isn’t the Octagon Tower.

Mr Pandammonium looked up at the cathedral. ‘It’s excessively big for such a small place.’

‘That’s so you could see it from all over, and so they could show off how rich they were.’ We continued walking down the street. ‘Jesus wouldn’t approve of this display of wealth. He threw the moneylenders out of the temple, after all.’
