I want to ride my bicycle

Sadly Glasgow lost out today in its attempt to host the Youth Olympics in 2018 despite submitting an excellent and strong bid. Whilst they may have lost put today we did win the opportunity to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games and I know my home city will do me proud.

Despite being a west end boy I have visited the east end many a time visiting Paradise and worked there for a few years as well. The change in the area from when I was a boy (not that long ago) to now is incredible and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome sits nicely alongside Celtic Park.

In the blink of an eye this place will be full of people cheering on some of the heroes that we saw at the Olympics. I can't wait.
