Massed Foxgloves

Is there any sight more spectacular! Last winter we cleared a small area of sycamores alongside one of the trails through the reserve. The idea was partly to control the sycamores that were spreading seeds everywhere, and partly to open up a small clearing part way along what had become a rather relentlessly shaded walk. As you can see, we have been rewarded by a great mass of Foxgloves - always lurking in the woodland seed bank, just waiting for a tree to fall or a nice little conservation project. This section of the walk is now a sheer joy!
