Bournemouth

If ever a town had fallen down in stature in the last few decades it is Bournemouth. I remember it, as a child, as being sedate, refined, with a vibrant town centre. It is now a shadow of it's former self.

A read a blog on the decline a couple of weeks back. This persons main thesis was that they had too many department stores (compared to other towns) which then all closed, this was then compounded by poor decision making at the council level, leading to the decline.
