Not in working order. Pictured at an outdoor museum.

Reading the paper today I noticed a picture identical to the Blip I used yesterday. Only difference it was in landscape format. It accompanied a story in which designer Wayne Hemmingway states, " ........ Leith in Edinburgh was a timebomb waiting to happen, the development created mono-cultural flats, not a mixed community, and now the mistakes have come home to roost. They are talking about having to replan Leith, yet it's only been built a few years. And while Glasgow's waterfront development isn't quite as bad as Leith's, it could have been done better. Again, the major reason why so many of our city developments don't succeed is because we make them liveable for only a narrow sector of the population."

The other thing I noticed was that 'Castle Bagging' is becoming a rival to 'Munro bagging' as a popular outdoor pursuit in Scotland. It said one Scottish family visited 20 castles in one day, a party of Germans took in 35 sites in 10 days and a Spanish couple managed 37 in 14 days. Perhaps we can look forward to an increase in Blips featuring castles this summer?
