Welcome to Uzbekistan

Tashkent : after two flights via Istanbul we arrived in Tashkent at 9am their time so 5am UK time and it was straight into the tour. We had a driver who took us to get breakfast and gave us our local SIM then we went to the Hazrat Imam complex to meet our guide Denoza who was so good: kind friendly knowledgeable and interesting. She’s an economics lecturer in her main job , speaks 5 languages fluently and at 45 is a grandmother already!
Decided not to post the minarets and domes of the mosque as there will be many more opportunities!
Anyway we then went to the Chosur Bazaar( fascinating), the Independence square , rode the metro - so clean ,
and drove around the park of Amir Temur statue before a late lunch of the national dish plov.
This is Hotel Uzbekistan built in the 1960s This landmark is interesting not only for its convenient location in the city center but also for its unique architectural forms: a curved facade and a memorable sunshade lattice that stretches almost the entire height of the building.
Then we went to the hotel and have used the pool and sauna. An early night as we have a flight at 7am to Nukus and then on to Muynak.
