The Eagle And The Stained Glass

The sun finally made a return today and it was a glorious Spring day so we felt we had to venture out and decided on the short trip back to Boxley.
We made a beeline for The King's Head for a pint and actually managed to sit outside in the pub garden, which rather remarkably we had entirely to ourselves, for one of the few times so far this year. It felt so great to be outside enjoying our al fresco beverages in the sunshine in such an atmospheric spot.
We then took a small trundle around the village itself. I'd spotted a beautiful tree still almost completely covered in fabulous plink blossom next to the village green but my brother bagged it first for his image so we continued our walk past the green and intro the churchyard of St Mary's and All Saints so I could try and get a shot.
The church itself has been the subject of a previous blip but on this occasion we decided we would head inside which is where we came across these beautiful stained glass windows which were illuminated perfectly by the early afternoon light. In front of the windows was an ornate brass eagle shaped lectern but I still couldn't get the image I wanted until a knelt down to get this viewpoint, which made it almost appear that the eagle was flying up towards the ceiling.
