Rathlin Island

Today we took the ferry from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island and then the little bus to the RSPB sea bird sanctuary. The set up by the RSPB is really superb with free loan telescopes and binoculars.

The viewing platform is still a rather long way from the birds so even with my longest lens the birds are a bit of a tiny blob in the distance. This shot does show just how many thousands of birds are nestng in this one tiny location
