We spent the morning making the most of the pool and breakfast (I wouldn't recommend the 'detox juice') before leaving for the airport at lunchtime. By the time we got there the incoming flight was already an hour late taking off. A couple of drinks and a decent sandwich later we went, as instructed to board. At which point carnage ensued.  None of the egates wee working so everyone's passports had to be manually checked and a number of flights were departing at once so the snake queue was sizeable and full of stressed and entitled people. One bloke took umbrage (rightly) at a group of passengers trying to bypass the snake and completely lost his temper, meaning security had to be called and everyone hauled off to calm down. Himself and I ended up sprinting through the airport to get the last bus out to the plane, something I haven't ended up doing since my teenage years.

Obviously it then sat on the tarmac for the next 30 mins.

The pilot made up some of the lost time (hoorah) which was sadly lost (boo) while waiting for the bags at T5. Meaning we missed the train and had to wait another 30 minutes for the next one.

I'm almost back at Farringdon now so about another 45mins until I get home.
