House of Gucci

Driving along the road from Glencoe to Kinlochleven, the Mamores look intimidatingly big and steep. And when I started to get in amongst them on foot, they became even more intimidatingly big and steep! This is the view towards the Grey Corries from Binnein Mor, the first of the two Munros. Binnein Mor is a VERY 'airy' summit, crazy long steep drops in every direction apart from the narrow ridge I'd just walked along.

I once came across a comment in a WalkHighlands walk report that you shouldn't leave it too late to tackle the 'Gucci Munros'. Well, Binnein Mor and Na Gruagaichean are definitely two of the Gucci Munros. It's not just their own mountain characteristics that make that so; it's also where they are situated, the company they keep. There's a real sense - with Ben Nevis to the north, the Grey Corries to the north east, and the Aonach Eagach to the south - of being right at the centre of things.
