Wedding Day

Sizing up the venue and getting a feel for what to snap. Not exactly a standard venue though - HMS Unicorn is an old Navy training vessel based up in Dundee. Built in 1824, but been a training vessel for most of her life.

The wedding went well, and the photography generally OK too. It's quite a challenge, trying to herd people round, get all the various combinations, get all the lighting etc, trying for some good candids without being obtrusive. I didn't get all the group pics listed, but we were pushed for time, and they weren't too worried anyway. Bride and all the ladies/groom and all the lads/all the kilts - they had to go. It was enough of a challenge rounding everyone up for the big group shot!
An additional problem was the venue itself: with no natural location for the group shots outside, I ended up shooting with the ship's prow in the background. It was a building site on the other side! At least within there was the Captain's Room, nicely furnished, for good shots of small groups.
Now to wade through over 200 shots to get the decent ones.
