In the Pink

We followed the running club's trail route from the Trowel & Hammer pub in the local village of Cotton this evening, except that P, S & I walked it (we've stopped taking our springer for long runs as he's beginning to show his age). There was quite a mix of paths - field edges, woods, damp tracks, plus a long stretch through very narrow hay meadows. Don't know if they actually use them for hay, but the meadows were well maintained and had a mixture of medium-sized grasses, all in flower at the moment. Just before the end of the route we also came across the subject of the Blip - a mass of pink campions, leading up to the far side of the village and the water tower. The central strip had been newly cultivated - it will be interesting to see what has been sown there!
